1950 Chevrolet Chop Top

Well I have been too busy to blog if there is such a thing, but amidst a schedule Thunder and I took some time to chop the top on a Summer cruiser…

Before:

And because although these cars are cool looking, we decided to chop it 4 inches in the front and 7 in the rear…

Thunder said “if things don’t work out I can always work in China… ”

We had to pie cut the A pillars then weld them back up…

AFTER:

Mocked up with some Wide Whites…

It’s going to take some sewing back together but you get the point…

Celtic Goose project

I guess it’s a little tough to see in the backdrop of a tree… but here is a test flight…

Above is the goose from behind… (after we dragged it out of the river where it took about a 15′ fall.

Here are a couple more shots of it…

I don’t know if updating….

Not sure if updating the site is the right term… but i have been pulling stuff from the old server to the new one and in the process of updating the gallery….

It has been sort of interesting because I have found some old pictures of stuff that I forgot were even there… car’s, engines, art projects, paper’s, essay’s… kinda funny to see the stuff…

I had forgotten about this one made out of a welding bottle cap

I’ll try to get more links up and running soon as I sort some stuff out…

What a difference a grill makes

So for those who care…

This was the before the 28 had its new grill; a bone stocker with out much Mulner effect.

and here it is after a sweet 32 Grill shell was put on there…

ahhhhhhhhhhhh, getting closer, now for some wide whites and some oldskool rims.

Frenched Head and Tail Light’s

Ok, I’m looking to french both my headlights and taillights on a 50 Chevy Coupe.

  • What have you used and what works best
  • If you have any pics, I would love to see them.

I am looking for a bucket recess kit for both the rear and front. I saw these for the front

on Night Prowlers site and it’s hard to tell from the photos how they will look.

I saw these on Mooneye’s

And they look alright

I like the idea of these in the rear (of the car )

(above also mooneyes)

  • Since their all probably made by the same group of kids in China, does anybody know where to get them direct?
  • Does anybody have some pics of how they look on your car and what kit you liked best?
  • What have you used and what works best?

I have been thinking I would like to chop a car… a real chop, not a T or an A but a legit choptop.  Anyone up for an adventure?

I am thinking something along these lines

 I have just the victim in mind… a 1950 Chev… MMMMMMn?

Sculptcycle

A while ago a friend told me about an art grant for the City of Montpelier that sounded neat.  Thier goal was to use recycled bicycle parts to create sculpture.

The idea sounded promising so i started staring at bikes.  One of those things that just started to stand out to me, but i noticed how much a few of the parts looked like a goose.  So i got the idea.  My hopes were to create a goose coming in for a landing…

In celtic traditions the goose is a representation of the Holy Spirit, so i thought it would be cool to have it land in Montpelier…
